I had this issue with Microsoft office too, please help.
When I sell on ebay I download the sales.
If I have sold 2 of something or 3 of something, it says I have in a seperate column. But it will only have the cost of one in the COST column. So if its 99p it will only have 99p, not 2.97, if i have sold 3.
I am SURE there must be a way to get it to take into consideration the quanitity column. But I have NO IDEA what im doing. Please help.
Really basic walkthrough required.

Hi charliecat

Can you post what you've got to show how the totals don't match?

charliecat · 11/06/2008 14:06

in the forth row can you see 2 x 1.98 plus 1.75 postage and its total was 4.73??!! Why is it not the right amount??

OP posts:
charliecat · 11/06/2008 14:10

sorry, 2.75 postage...itd the imformation on the spreadsheet thats incorrect isnt it...And i dont know how to make it right...othr than manually going through the whole frigging lot

I would set my spreadsheet up like this

Description |Quantity | Sale Price | Total | Postage & Packing | Insurance | Total Price

blah blah blah | 2 | 0.99 | =(B2*C2) | 2.50 | 0.00 | =SUM(D2:F2)

then copy the formulae down the columns

Molesworth · 11/06/2008 14:17

ah I see

Try this formula in the total column then

not sure what your columns are exactly but say your quantity is in column B and your price is in column C

=(B2*C2)+D2+E2 (to add the P&P and Insurance)

not very elegant looking but it should give you the correct total, if I'm understanding how you've set your spreadsheet up correctly

charliecat · 11/06/2008 14:20

Right that looks good. Maybe the issue is that I ddint set the spreadsheet up...when you download your stuff from ebay it....ta da..is all done for you. Except the adding......which SHOULD be simple...Im sure it is realy...now will go have a scratch at that now. Thank you again

Going to bury my head in it for a bit, at some stage it, before I have fiddled, it SOMEtimes adds up the quantitys, so 2 at 99p become 1.98, but sometimes it doesnt...so when i tell it to * the columns it muddles it up further.
Am going to go through the list. Put the right amounts in. And see where I end up..Cheers...Will be back!

Ah, it's always so much easier when it's something you've set up yourself I think, so I can see why this is being such a pain in the butt

good luck, I'll keep checking the thread

Molesworth · 11/06/2008 14:33

I could sort it out for you if you emailed the spreadsheet to me, would that be better?

charliecat · 11/06/2008 14:48

I have done it..HUGE sigh.
THANK YOU... I would like to email the original to you, so you can see how it sometimes adds up the quantitys and sometimes doesntAnd when it does it will have 25p, 25p AND the total 50p in the same column adding to a quid...
Most irritating.
This is how I did it last year with office, having to go throught and manually do it Makes me so stressed
my email is [email protected] Not really..lol take out the LE and add il. I will then see if i can send it to you....more trauma LOL Thank you again
