Did you save it during any of the time you were working on it?

Frizbe · 27/02/2008 20:50

is it not showing in your recent documents? I'd try looking there 1st.

Youcannotbeserious · 27/02/2008 20:51

Don't close anything else.

Did you save the original? If so, can you see an earlier saved version of the document?

If you can't, check your recycled / trash can.... Can you see it in there? If you can, you can retrieve it.

There is a chance that when you hit 'no' it was actually to the word doc. in which case I'm not sure you can retrieve it.......

Check your temporary files too... It might be saved there... Sometimes your PC will save to the temp. files while it's on.

Worth a check!

No help to you now I know but saving your work regularly is a very good habit to get into.
Sounds like you need a drink...

Go to Tools, then Options, then File Locations. Look at Autorecover files, and see if you can find this folder on your C: drive. If your autorecover is working, you MAY find a more recent version there. Fingers crossed!!!!

DS says:

There are several programs designed to let you recover files. However, if the file was never created, this may not work, although is worth a try. The MS word autorecover will not work, as it asked you if you want to save, and thinks you didn't want it saved. But the following method is at least worth a try:

I recommend Recuva - it has been very useful in the past!

The more recently you deleted the document (or file), and the lower number of times you have written anything to the folder, the more likely you will be able to recover most or all of the file.

THank you. I am going to have a drink!

Have had a word with myself and decided not to get in a stress. No-one died, after all....
