How much will it cost me? I can't stand rubbish websites and would never use a company with one, so it needs to look professional.

Any clues v welcome!

what's the site going to do? Brochure type affair or a big fecking e-commerce type thing?

flowerybeanbag · 27/02/2008 11:41

Think DH's site was about £1000 or so, although that was mates rates so maybe £2-3K? It's a professionally done site of about 7 pages.

Maybe about 8 pages, no flash, won't need to change very often, don't want people to contribute.

thanks for responses

I can't do paid work but can happily sanity check stuff...

flowerybeanbag · 27/02/2008 16:21

ooh thanks both

Lapin I'm not quite at the getting quotes stage just yet, after a ballpark as I am clueless

For the first time in my career I am facing the prospect of having to market myself rather than conveniently knowing people or knowing people who know people!

MorningPaper designed both my sites. They are wonderful. Easy to use and just gorgeous.

Lovely site!

If I wanted a doula, that site would make me think you are a warm, family person straight away.

MarsLady · 27/02/2008 18:49

Thanks lou lol! Will get that blinking MP to sort it out! Bet the wabbit would've spotted it!

(Sorry MP.. she was being a bit pathetic so I thought I'd boost her confidence. You KNOW I lurve ya!)

you can do one yourself on a web hosting site like 123reg, i started doing this then my friends bro is a into web design, but not an official web designer and done mine. cost alot less than £1k.

cx

nannynick · 27/02/2008 23:21

Navymummy (mumsnetter) did mine - design wise, I did coding myself, so saved myself quite a bit. Cost was no where near £2-3k. I would expect you could get something reasonable for £500.

MarsLady · 27/02/2008 23:25

I certainly didn't pay that for either (or indeed both) of my sites!

Love the Wabbit. Heart MorningPaper (blardy genius). People always think I spent loads on my sites.

I thought it was going to be Madamez as well....
