Geeky stuff

Wasn't sure where to post this, but for an ebay virgin - and I've got the camera, and I think I've got an account - where would you start?

And does ebay charge a percentage of what you've sold, or a flat fee? Any pitfalls I should be aware of? TIA xx

You should probably buy a few things first to raise your feedback, or sell some small cheap items.
People are very wary of buying from brand new members and either won't bid or will bid low

Thanks for that, TDWP. I was just thinking of clothes mum's made for dds, that have been languishing in a container under our bed for the last 8 years!

Although, seeing some of the recent(ish) links on MN, it seems you can sell any old tat!

Will have to get to terms with digital camera first!

Was going to do a car boot sale, but I couldn't cope with anyone offering me 50p for something that's had so much care put in to making it. Or am I being to precious?

clothes are a good place to start..

ebay take a flat fee based on the start value of the items that you are selling.. also they take money for extra photos and funky extras in your advert.. paypal will then take a percentage for the transaction with the seller/buyer (even tho they are the same company)..

Look at the t's & c's and you can see these charges in detail.

One tip.. do not be greedy and all your stuff will sell and you will get good feebnack... better to sell for a few pound then sit in the cupboard.. also make sure you cover your costs for postage..

good luck and happy baying.. my wife does this exact thing and makes money from air.. it is a good tool
