Help with TV after sky

We've cancelled sky, couldn't afford it and didn't watch the channels. We need to send the equipment back to them which is fine but this means we won't have any channels at all. Our TV in one room is to old to accept a firestick, were just looking at other options such, ideally we want a one off cost rather that a monthly subscription. I'm not sure how Now TV works or if there is something else suitable for us

It'll depend massively on what inputs you have.

If you've got HDMI in.
You can have a firestick.

A now TV box would also use a HDMI.
As would a Roku.

Pretty much everything really these days.uses HDMI, possibly Scart, but they're rare now.

We've got HDMI in both TV its one is quite old and doesn't support a firestick, it's common after a Google. Is now tv a one off payment?

Interesting about the fire stick support. I thought all hdmi would work. Nevermind.

NOWtv isn't free no, I've googled this morning and it's actually quite expensive imo.
9.99 for entertainment then more for cinema and more still for sports and more still if you want HD content.

Amazon do a free with ads service called FreeVee, that's about the only free service incan think of that isn't pirating or streaming from sources less than authentic.

In any case you need a receiver box of some sort and if your hdmi isn't supported, not sure what to suggest.

Have a Google of: Roku Box

see if one of those models is compatible.

Not much hekp sorry, hope someone can come along and help more.

Does your tv have built in freeview? If so you should be able to connect it to an aerial or satellite that will transmit live tv programmes. If the tv has a scart you can source a freeview receiver with a scart connection for £20-£35 which may resolve the issue if you lack any hdmi on your tv.?

If you can afford it might better and more 'future proof' if you buy a more up to date tv second hand with built in programmes on demand apps or with at least hdmi connections and then use a firestick/Roku stick so you can still stream programmes on demand via various apps like iPlayer, Disney+ and Amazon Prime.
