How do I fold a Buzz and also how do I adjust the angle the seat is at, and what do i do when the button on the handle is jammed out?

Please!

Have managed to fold it but my hands are now caning!
Is it hard to fold because you have to push against the gas that it uses to open itself?

So now, how do I get the seat to sit upright?

i had a buzz, i seem to remember that there was some twisting and pushing required, needed 2 hands. push the buttons to move/release the seat

ClareVoiant · 18/01/2008 17:20

or you can download instructions fron the the website

LadyOfTheCauliFlowers · 18/01/2008 17:22

The instructionmanaual bit of the site is not working, by way of a change.

So to adjust the seat, I use the ones that you release the seat with?

IIRC you push the buttons and twist it to the position you want it in. what model have you got? ours was 2005. I dont know if the newer models are different. It all takes a bit of getting used to, but you'll soon be a pro
see what you mean about the website.

ClareVoiant · 18/01/2008 18:02

sorry, yes, i think the ones that you use to release the seat. IIRC you have to have the seat in an upright position to fold it up. it does take some effort to close then attach the strap pronto to stop it popping open again as you lift it into the car. I found that bit a pita.

LadyOfTheCauliFlowers · 18/01/2008 21:48

Thank you very much.

I didn't know you could fold it with the seat on, I am guessing you can as it's a 2006 one. Dh said 'Oh GOD! Don't tell me it's another off with the seat jobby before you can get it into the car!'

It no longer appears to have this clip you speak of to stop it exploding mid lift....

Was it plastic or a velcro strap or something like that?

The clip pulls out and has a round bit which you need to pull.

T fold:

Put break on - important
Seat needs to be front facing if left on
with your thumbs on the knobs on each side of the frame, push in the direction of the arrows on the knobs
push down to fold
locate round circle clip and pull it out to lock the frame. If you don't it will unfold by itself...

sorry, these don't seem very clear, but it is easy when you get the hang of it

I have it back indoors now after a nightmare shopping trip to town this morning with it.

Tis raining, obviously, so all the tiled shop entrances are wet. On the tiles, the front wheel decides it is going to get stuck in a sideways turn position and not right itself, so it skids along the floor, jams to a halt and a million people crash into my generously sized arse in the doorway.
I neraly go right over the bloody thing and there is a major pile up.
'Sort it out love!'

It does not unfold itself as such. You have to pull it up all the way to fully open it but it is very easy, it pushes the weight up itself, you just encourage it iyswim? Fine.

Both the back wheels squeak like buggery.

Otherwise, it's lovely, just need to get used to how to operate it.

Have just fought my way round Tesco to get a bottle of 3in1 oil for it and have lubed all the wheels up and letting that soak in overnight.

DH hates the sight of it by now and refuses to push it. With the front wheel being stiff it is a PITA to push to be fair, you have to fight it to turn it anywhere.

Also, the button on the handle bar to adjust the handle height with is jammed out so you can't make the handle any bigger than thw shortest posistion.

Any experience of this please?

Will now go looking for the elusive clip!

Many thanks.

I can't see a clip thing anywhere....

OK, the front wheel problem might be because the lever that can fix the wheel position has been pressed down a little. Try lifting it up.

Now, I have just inspected my buzz and the elusive clip to hold it al in place in on the left hand side of the handle. It looks a little like a key hole. If you pull it, it pulls out and clips to a doo-dah on the frame when folded.

I haven't had any problems with my buzz but it does take a little bit of practice.

I've just noticed you want to know how to tilt the seat. That's quite easy but easier to do without anyone sitting in it. Press down the little grey clips either side of the seat and tilt back or forwards.

Hope that helps and good luck.

Gibbsy · 19/01/2008 20:02

The Buzz does take practice. I find to adjust the seat with the baby in it, go behind the seat and press the grey buttons, as you can use your body to push it up.

To fold it stand with the front wheel in between your feet as this will make it easier.

I have a 2006 model and the wheels squeaked as well! Bit of oil sorted it.

You can fold the seat with the frame if it is facing forwards, but have to take the seat off first if it is facing towards you. Hope that makes sense!!

LadyOfTheCauliFlowers · 19/01/2008 20:13

I must be a vloody spud taht's all I can say. I still cannot find the clip or anything that looks like one.
Could this be becuase my handle is jammed on the shortest setting so the clip could be down inside the frame iyswim?

I have checked the clip on the wheel and it was not depressed at all but have pushed it down to lock then brought it back up anyway, just in case.

When the button on the handle first jammed in, DH gave it a bash and it released. No amount of gentle yet persuasive bashing is budging it now though.

You should be able to see the clip even with the handle at the shortest. It is not really a clip just kind of like a wire with a loop at the end. When pulled out this loop goes over a nut on the inside of one of the wheels ( I think, my buzz is in the car so can't remember exactly!)

LadyOfTheCauliFlowers · 19/01/2008 20:24

Have managed to unjam the button and am now able to adjust the handle height, but lo, the clip was not in there.

OP posts:
LadyOfTheCauliFlowers · 19/01/2008 20:32

RIGHT! It does not have a 'hold it together' whatsit. I have resigned myself to that I think. It will have to just keep exploding in the boot.

The quinny manual bit is down so I still cannot even lok at a picture to see where it is.

Will Google..... fingers crossed someone else out there could not find theirs.

If its the older model, like ours was it just had a strap that went around the handle and clipped onto a piece of the frame. What a nightmare you seem to be having with it. with regards to the sticky front wheel, i suggest removing it and giving it a good soak, ours was only plastic and got jammed when filled with mud (though we did take it for a walk in the woods). Is it new? if so, I'd take it back, and ask for a different one. If you've bought it secondhand, I suggest stripping it down and giving it a good clean, grease all the moving parts, and getting a strap to hold it together.
