I emailed some pictures for somebody to use in a magazine, they were taken with a 10 megapixel camera.

Basically she has emailed to say could she have them in a bigger format ie JPG 300dpi or A5 or A6. I have no idea what this means, can anybody explain how to convert them.

TIA

Open the pictures, pref from the original source, and go to "save as" in the file menu. Under the file name, there should be a drop-down menu which lets you save as jpeg files.

Thanks scootergrrrl, they were already Jpeg she said she wanted them bigger, but I have sorted it now anyway.

Most cameras compress the pictures to get more on their cards. The compression is lossy, which means you lose information. So, for example, my 7MP Casio will by default save as "medium" definition, which means 2MBytes per picture, which is OK for 6"x4" snaps but not for big stuff.

Best to check your camera and make sure that everything is set as high resolution/definition as possible.
