Are passwords saved to your browser secure?

No, just saving the passwords to the firefox browser. When you enter your password it says 'do you want to save this password'.

@CruelAndUnusualParenting they're just normal passwords, upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols.

I read that many browsers including firefox, chrome etc are easily hacked and passwords and log in details collected.

Firefox allows you to set a primary password that controls access to your saved passwords. If you don't set that then they are encrypted but the keys are accessible to a knowledgeable attacker.

Once you have set the primary password then the stored passwords are somewhat secure. The encryption used to be quite weak. I don't if it still is.
