How to find someone to help

A friend of mine (mature - Sliver Surfer)wants someone to help explain how to do quite simple things on his new laptop. I don't have the time, so I wondered how to find someone who has a few spare hours at an upcoming weekend.

Anyone have any ideas on how to go about finding someone - could be a mum/dad/teenager/college student. Vital thing is that they have their own transport and can get to a village called Windlesham, on the Surrey/Berkshire border.

I don't feel an IT Support company would want to do this sort of thing, a couple of hours isn't worth their bother. Also while there would be some money involved, we are not talking large amounts - more a small amount to cover expenses. It wouldn't be routine work, so not really a job.

Any ideas... anyone fancy helping/teaching a Sliver Surfer how to use their computer - how to install software, copy/rename files, etc.

Yes, I have suggested that to him, but he seems reluctant. I feel he would benefit from learning how to do things himself, rather than trying to get other people to do it for him (with him watching - which seems to be more his plan). Will keep trying to get him to signup for courses.

All ideas most welcome... if anyone local fancies a few hours helping someone with computing, do get in touch. I am sure he will cover any costs.

He could try asking on a local Gumtree for someone. Most teenagers are pretty IT literate these days, might make a change instead of 'baby sitting' as a way of earning pocket money.

Or they could use the skill swap section, I would happily teach someone for a few hours in return for some odd gardening work etc.

I might put an advert on my local gumtree offering my skills.
