We are going soon (hopefully they reopen when they expect to) and I know we will be limited on things we can do but need to get away and that’s ok. So at home I have sky, prime and Netflix. In CP they only have the basic channels. (I have an autistic DC so want to try to see if I can provide similar to home as best I can in terms of tv as this is his down time when he’s struggling) I do not want to take a laptop with us and that is crap for us all to watch tv on together.

I have been reading about fire sticks. I’m not sure what they are or how they work. They are about £40, is it as simple as sticking that into a CP tv and I can access my Netflix account?

Yep you'll need the cable it plugs into the tv with, that's called an HDMI.
And the cable that plugs the xbox into the wall.
When you've plugged it all in, you'll need to press Source on the remote or TV and click through to find the right HDMI channel.

You need to ask CP if you can access the input sockets as sometimes TVs are built into walls etc so you couldn't get to the HDMI / USB ports even if you had the right leads / fire stick / chromecast

Ah ok. I haven’t stayed in any lodge at elvedon which are like that, they always have space around them? Maybe it is the most expensive ones in that picture? I know Woburn are like that as that is new.

They came back to me and say ‘new style all have state of the art hdmi ports with connection for a hdmi cable from a laptop and or play audio over Bluetooth or standard jack plug along with the ability to charge devices from the usb sockets’

Yes that will work fine then. Just take a 4 gang 2m extension cable with you and then you'll know you'll be able to plug in all your stuff.

Thanks. Bizarrely someone else has just messaged back from CP saying you can’t plug in as the TV are wall mounted, yet the person before them said the above Hmm

@Whatnamesareleft

I’m going to take a few dvds but we don’t have many as we have sky cinema at home! What about sky, only way for that is to download stuff but then you can only watch on a laptop/tablet/phone which won’t work...

You can view sky go on a laptop.
Also you can connect a laptop to TV using HDMI cable so you get the larger screen.

I watched Netflix on an iPad in France.

It must be doable in Centreparcs.

It depends on the villa you have. I have an Autistic son (now 14yrs old), and we have been going to Elveden Forest since he was 2yrs old (also have a 12yr old daughter). We go every year as only place he can cope and feels normal to him. We have the executive lodge and their TV's have access to the HDMI ports as well as USB ports, so you can use an XBOX /Playstation / FireStick / Chromecast on the TV in the main lounge. The TV's in the bedrooms are not accessible for any device as situated high on wall with no access to any ports visible. There is Wifi in all villas now, and most villas equipment has been upgraded over the years, but that doesn't mean every villa is the same (even if the same type), so if you have not selected a villa number, you are better off calling CP and asking if your TV has access to the ports (HDMI / USB). We try and get the same villa every year, but as not always possible, we try and stay in the same area as my kids know the route from the main village to the villa, so they get some independence cycling on their own. If this is your first trip to CP, enjoy it's our home away from home. Although since lockdown the swimming is now restricted to booking slots (not great for having an Autistic child), but don't let that put you off, if they lift this restriction we would spend nearly every day in their (for most of the day). Hope this helps, and have a lovely time.

We used a chrome stick at CP this year but had to phone customer services when we arrived so they could open up the WiFi for it to work.

I used a firestick at Cp a couple of weeks ago. It can depend on your accommodation but TV is usually in the wall of the kitchen counter facing out and if newer style lodge there is a USB port on the wall for easy access

This is how to do it. It's quite simple. Connect your phone WiFi to center parcs. Create a hotspot on your mobile phone then using Google home search for Chromecast and get it to connect through to your phones hotspot. Chromecast will then use the WiFi connection on your phone which is center parcs, image attached is me watching Netflix Better Call Saul at centre parcs, they either block your Chromecast directly connecting to center parcs WiFi or the Chromecast just can't click on the T&C's to get WiFi.
