Good and simple photo editor for a beginner?

Long story short, I want to learn photo editing but well-known programs like Photoshop are too difficult for me and I want to run away from all these layers Grin. Any recommendations on what photo editor could be beginner friendly?

Google photos you can crop it, change the light and colour, and add effects.

Lightroom is actually quite easy to use. I use the Lightroom app on my phone for editing phone pics.

I'm assuming you're using a Windows machine?
As Sweetener12 said said Gimp is good and well worth downloading but can be a bit a wee bit daunting to start with.
I like Paint.Net. www.getpaint.net/. It's another free one (but donations are encouraged) and it's really easy for beginners but is actually quite a comprehensive program when you you start to delve into it.
Loads of youtube videos available.
If you want to do a bit more than remove Redeye then you'll have to master layers - sorry for that [big grin]

Here is a list of best photo editors for PC- photography.tutsplus.com/articles/best-photo-editing-software-pc-free-paid--cms-36447 From my experience I can tell you that Photoworks and Picasa are good, but it depends on what exactly do you want to learn and to do. Sometimes apps like PicsArt or free portrait editors like Photodiva are enough, if you want to do something simple, like removing skin imperfections and adding clip arts and filters.

Mutunus guess I'll have to learn how to use them Grin
And yes, I use Windows

I use Irfanview for simple jobs. GIMP baffles me, but I haven't really put the effort in to learn it.

Good and simple is tricky. The simpler it is, the less it will do.
