Improving wifi signal

Zoom meetings have really shown up the problems with our wifi signal, in that I can really only have them reliably in the room where the router modem is. I tried getting one of those things that boosts the signal, which helps but hasn't remedied the problem completely.

I'm wondering about moving to something like BTInternet which claims it will ensure you have a good signal in every room in the house. Does anyone have any experience or other recommendations? Do they provide a router?

BT Mesh is the whole house WiFi coverage system - basically a network of Wi Fi extenders.
If you change to BT you will get a new router, but you don't have to change to BT to use the Mesh system, Pack of 3 available on Amazon for £75 tinyurl.com/y5jm7svk for use with any supplier.
Your existing router will need to be a fairly new dual band router to get the best from the Mesh system though.
TP Link offer a similar setup for about the same price.

If you add a mesh system to your existing router, it makes no difference whether the current one is dual band or not, as you disable the WiFi on the current router and replace it with the mesh system. This had the advantage of being a bit cheaper, but does mean you need two boxes and two plug sockets occupied wherever your router is, unless you have a network socket to another location.

I would definitely go with the mesh option though. the nice thing about BT "complete wifi" is that the 'base' wifi unit is built into the router, and, it gets pretty good reviews overall. The "whole home wifi" is essentially the same system, but you plug it into your current router. The two systems are not interchangeable, so you cant mix the black complete discs with the white whole-home discs, and the black ones are much more expensive if you need to add range.

Be careful of the whole home wifi mini which gets poorer reviews than the full size ones.

I have the complete WiFi, which i'm more than happy with, we have 7 children and 2 adults that work occaisionally from home, and the system deals with 2 zoom meetings, several netflix and disney 4k streams and online gaming, all at once just fine.
