It's refusing to add some words to the dictionary - a lot of what I do involves place names and it's v useful to have them added for future fat-fingered episodes.

Yesterday it would happily add anything - today it's being very selective and will hardly add anything (ie in the drop-down box of suggestions etc, the "add to dictionary" link isn't working)

The weirdest thing is that I have one word (well, an abbreviation) in 2 places - one does get the "add" link and one doesn't

Ah, you see the problem here is that Vista is shit.

Well, it is at the moment.

When they have done all the required patches (glitches and hitches to common or garden folk like me), then it'll be fab.

As usual, Bill Gates jumped the gun and released it too soon.

That's not helpful is it?

Switch it off and switch it on again?

Quite....

DP says the same. Although, he would always convince his manager that he absolutely needed to have a version at home to 'experiment' with

I've used vista, and Office 2007. on my humble laptop.

Got DP to remove Vista - it was driving me mad.

I do like Office 2007. It's layout makes absolute sense (should have been set out like that from the start). However, old habits die hard and I find myself expecting to find something in one menu option, and spending 5 minutes flicking back and forth (instead of thinking logically about where it would be - which is how it is now).

VVV, I think the problem I was having there was with Word 2007 rather than Vista per se (so the problem was with me rather than Vista or Word - knowing what you're doing would always be a help in these situations!)

Anyway I must get back to work - now it's in the correct language - see y'all later

Remember that it works along more logical lines now, and try and forget the old Word. Difficult, but possible!
