Alternative to Samsung for phone?

Sick to death of the amount of storage/memory used up by Samsung's own apps that I never use. If I want to download a new app I have to delete an existing one of my own choosing in order to get sufficient space.

Is there another manufacturer who doesn't do this? I'm on a Galaxy A3 at the moment and not interested in Apple or Huawei (cost/security concerns).

the only one i know of that you can delete pre-existing apps on is iphones, and even then you can't delete all of them. you could get one of the nokia 3-1 phones off musicmagpie, with 32gb, and then download dropbox which you can use to store your photos instead of the pre-existing photo app, therefore saving storage (as dropbox compresses the photos to make room)

Moto G phones have very little preinstalled apps and you can install an SD card for photos if that helps.

Few not little

Google Pixel phones don't do it.

I have a Moto g power,as someone said not many preinstall stuff that you can't delete.I got the power because the battery is phenomenal.

After many years I jumped ship from Samsung to Google pixel last year. Love it. No bloatware and an all round excellent phone. Not to mention cheaper than Samsung and of course massively cheaper than an iPhone.

I have switched to Sony. I definitely had to disable some apps rather than delete them, but it's so much less bloated than my old Samsung, which used to have some kind of bug in which it kept ALL the update data every time resulting in massive system files. Samsung never fixed this even though it's an issue on loads of their phones.

Also, the battery lasts 2-3 days depending on how heavily I use it, and I can fit it in one hand. No man sized hands necessary.

The camera is nice too, because Sony make cameras, the lens quality is good. It's not fantastic in low light conditions is my only gripe, but I think the next model up from this one is better.

Thanks everyone I will look into those options.

Just stick an SD card in it and save all your photos/videos/downloads etc to that, which will free up space for your apps.

If you get a phone with "Android One" that's plain Android with no extra apps installed. I don't know of any mainstream brands like Samsung who do Android One phones. We have a Xiaomi Mi A2 and and a Mi A2 Lite, whcih are Android One phones. If you can still find them there may be some end of line bargains at 120ish for the Mi A2. The latest version is the Mi A3.

My last 3 phones have been from the Moto G and I can't fault them - mine have lasted 2-3 years each.

I currently have the G7 play, it cost £125 and is a right little work horse if you're not after anything fancy or gimmicky.
