Is there any way to get extra filters on our internet?

Each device (for the children) has its own restrictions like not being to have free access to internet, only kids apps, needs my password to download anything etc etc. I’m concerned though that things are getting through which I know will happen, I just wondered is there any way to put blockers on the router? Iv rung my supplier (utility warehouse) who have said there’s nothing I can do and maybe I can purchase somewhere else Hmm can anyone help advise please?

Its difficult to know the future and what problems are likely to occur. The 1st step I would do is google "internet filters" and see if any of the results are applicable to your concerns. I did that and some suggest some router controls.
Good luck

TP Link Deco wifi router gives you the ability to block specific sites, restrict types of site, and restrict times. It's an app on my phone and I can update with immediate effect. I've given everyone their own level of restriction, start/end time, length of screen time - and if anyone annoys me I can block youtube in about 5 seconds. There are much cheaper alternatives around as well.

So it would be a third party thing? It’s not specific websites I want to block as I can already do that, it’s more ‘inappropriate’ stuff that escapes the filters especially you tube. That’s my main worry!

Have a look at this usa chat show talking about the problem regarding youtube youtube

Sadly, even restrictions implemented on a router can be easily bypassed, and with kids being as savvy as they are, and the plethora of apps/VPN's and sites available is ridiculous. I used to work in senior internet security and it was accepted 15 years ago this was going to happen, and the problem would skyrocket. You just need to educate about the dangers, it's all one can do.

Will look at the link thanks.

I do educate but my eldest has high functioning autism. He doesn’t always get when things are inappropriate. As Iv said he is on the internet in the main room so not in private on his own, it still worries me though
