Hiya,
I'm not sure if this is the right place but can't find anywhere else.

My dad has a recording equipment where they record their own music (don't know which one or anything else really) and has now finally bought a pc. So obviously now he wants to transfer the music onto the pc, but has no idea how to do this.

I assume he needs some sort of hardware and also software, does anyone have a clue?

I realise now that I should have gathered a bit more info before agreeing to help him , but maybe someone can at least point me in the right direction???

Only me again, just adding that he has Edirol UA 1EX interface, so I assume software is the problem ?? Anyone???

Try Audacity.

It's a free piece of software that lets you record music from your computer into .wav, .mp3 or similar formats.

I'm not an audiophile (it only gets used for recording music off YouTube) so I reckon someone who actually know's what they're doing could get a lot more out of it.

Audacity is also the recommended softare for USB turntables to convert vinyl into MP3 format.

Ok, thank you both, I will tell him.

I use audiograbber to tranfer my vinyls onto pc, but I use a y connector into the aux in rather than usb.
