I've been asked to look into it for my new boss.
I've got lots of information on line and I'm now trying to use OneNote myself to be able to show him but I'm not finding it easy to get started.

Is it one of those things that east when you know how or am I just actually being a tad thick?

OneNote is fairly straightforward when you get going. I use the app on a Surface Pro but my colleagues also use it on their phones, I think. Have you looked for free Microsoft training online? We had to do a video training session and it was a good overview.

Basically it's an online notebook that you can add sections to; insert links, photos or attachments into; share with colleagues; lock access to etc. It's in the cloud so you can use it online and effectively access it from anywhere you have wifi. What in particular do you want to do with it?

I use evernote. I pay for it so I use it for notes on 2 computers, a laptop, a tablet, a phone and a chromebook.

thanks for the replies.

I like the sound of the free Microsoft training.
Did any of you try the other options available before choosing the one to use?
I read somewhere that with one of the that you can write on the screen and your writing can then be made into a typed document. Or did I dream that?

I use One Note extensively and have doen for about 7 years. i find it fantastci and organise my whole life in it! I use it on lots of different devices - laptop, phone, computer at work. All synced and backed up in the cloud on my MS OneDrive account. I find it really easy to use and there are loads of tips and customaisations available once you get into it. Feel free to ask if you're having any issues.

One note you can write on the screen if you have a touch screen and then turn it into text and vice versa - you can screenshot powerpoint presentations etc with text on them and convert it into text to put in a one note document. I think you have to enable this somewhere from memory. I tried evernote briefly but found OneNote much better as it integrates into all the other MS progranms really well - can send emails staright into OneNote etc and it's synced across all devices and can be accessed from anywhere.
