We have a few Dvd's that we want to load on to an iPad to use in the car or on holiday.

We have tried via iTunes but its asking us to pay for them again

Is there a simple way to do this. We are going to France so Netflix etc wont work.

No simple way I'm afraid. You either have to pay for them again through iTunes, or make sure you buy dvds that come with a digital copy, or get some software that will convert them for you.

Handbrake used to be mentioned for this. If you google I'm sure you can find something. I never tried it myself, as my laptop is the one I use for my self employed business and I didn't want anything on it that might be dodgy.

However if you have the itv player on it, you can download tv programmes to watch later, we do this instead when the kids get bored of Rio and Ironman (paid iTunes for those).

Someone else might be along soon with a better techy answer.....

A dvd ripping spftware can help you. If you like, you can try Leawo DVD Ripper, it can easily load the dvd to your iPad, you don't need to buy it again on iTunes. Here is a guide for you: Load DVD to iPad 4.

Depends whether you're mac or PC. I'm on a mac and have been using handbrake for donkey's years. It's the best ripping software out there, nothing dodgy about it at all.

Well, i believe “Load DVD to iPad'' and "Load DVD to HTC Phone" is similar because both them don't have a DVD drive and both of them support MP4 video playback. If you are also think so, click here to try my DVD enjoyment on my HTC tutorial and have a try.

Just remember that ripping a DVD will, in most cases involve removing copy protection. Doing this is a breach of copyright and therefore technically illegal.

As far as software, it's been a while, but when I used to handle DVDs, AppGeeker was good with ripping. I'm sure there are better ones now.

See: How to Rip DVDs to iPad on Mac/PC Flawlessly

Then transfer the converted videos to iTunes to suyc with your iPad.
