Hi. My trusty ipod shuffle has died a death. I loved it for commuting every single day etc.

My phone, an htc, used for texts, internet surfing and few calls, has also died.

So, what do I need? One gadget, or replace both? Btw, we have a mac desktop and android cheap tablet at home. I feel confused by gadgets now! I like ease of use, want easy charging, use i- tunes for music up til now. Thanks.

I have a HTC One X Android phone with 32gb SD card (latest version has 64gb fixed storage) 4.7 in screen.

I use it to watch movies, listen to music, read, surf, play games etc etc.

I have a spare charging cable at work so that I still have enough juice for the rest of the day after the commute in.

In other words, I only need one gadget :)

That's what I'm wondering. How do you get your music across? Apologies if that is a v basic question.

Since you already had a shuffle so you will have all your music in iTunes. In which case you may want to get yourself an iphone. If new is too much, there are plenty of second hand ones on the market nowadays.

My recommendation would be an iphone 5 or 4s if your budget can't stretch to a 5.

You pay a premium for it being an iPhone. A few years ago, before Android came along, it was worth the premium but today the latest Android phones have to same apps.

If you do get an Android phone then there are free apps from the App Store that will allow you to sync your phone with iTunes. They are either free or can be had for loose change.

.. have the same apps (damned auto correct)

In terms of getting music on to an Android device (outside of iTunes) it's literally a case of plugging the device into your PC and dragging the files over. Some devices you can also do this wirelessly over Wifi too.

Yes. I can do that I think. It is difgicult when you are a bit I tunes based. I'd prefer one gadget I think...
