'Broadband subscribers face £9.3bn snoopers' charter bill'
10 December 2012
Households across the UK could face an extra £50 a year on their broadband bill for the next decade to meet the costs of controversial government proposals, a Liberal Democrat peer and lawyer has warned.
Lord Marks QC was quoted in The Daily Telegraph as describing the Communications Data Bill as both "hugely expensive" and "deeply unpleasant".
(I made the text about the cost for the next decade bold)
There's a lot of criticism (in the media, and on MN) about the Lib Dems, but hopefully they can get this proposal scrapped!
I hope there's a petition created listing things to abolish (this bill, and that dumb High Speed train track, for starters - another waste of money, when with higher speed internet, many more could work from home and not need to commute or go to London for meetings!)
