Am thinking of one for use when travelling/at airports to Mn/FB/watch a film.

So attracted by price/portability/easy to hold.

But is the screen really big enough??

To me the choice is reasonably easy. If your budget stretches to £169 then get the Nexus 7, no question. If you want to pick up a bargin then the Fire at £99 this weekend is what you need. The Fire HD shouldn't be considered as there's no reason to get it over the Nexus.

If all you want is an eReader then nothing beats the standard Kindles (paper white being best in class right now).

I've just bought a Fire for DW but mainly for the price and we already have smartphones a Kindle each and a full size tablet so it's more of a subsidiary.

Same here Pedro, I've got the other stuff too. The fire is an addition.
