mumnosbest · 02/07/2012 16:09

Kids in my class (reception) always do this! Sorry i dont know how to fix it though!

Dropdeadfred · 02/07/2012 16:10

Think it was ctrl and alt and the up/down arrow

TodaysAGoodDay · 02/07/2012 16:14

Yes, hold down the Control and Alt keys, then press the up arrow.

HoneyDragonWearingLederhosen · 02/07/2012 16:14

crtl and the arrow keys

TodaysAGoodDay · 02/07/2012 16:14

Have you sorted it?

ThisTimeNextYearRodney · 02/07/2012 16:19

Dropdead that's it, genius! Thanks

But why would you want an upside down screen?

So when Tom Cruise Mission impossible types dangle upside down to retrieve top secret sneaky beaky files they don't get eye strain.

ThisTimeNextYearRodney · 02/07/2012 16:55

Aah, it all makes sense now. There are a couple of recipes and a shit book I tried to write many many highly confidential and exciting files on my computer

My sister, who's a translator, has a monitor which can be swivelled to portrait orientation when she's working on a long document, so she doesn't have to keep scrolling down so often and she uses Ctrl-Alt-> to change the screen orientation to fit. There are also situations in industry where monitors have to be fitted upside down or sideways to fit a space so it's useful then.
I also found it helpful once at school when one of the projectors went wrong and couldn't project its image upside down (they are mounted upside down on the ceiling because the screw-holes are on the bottom) so I just turned the computer's display over.

Children often do it by mistake - toddlers because their natural instinct when faced with a keyboard seems to be to bang one hand down on each side of the space bar, which is where the relevant keys are, and older children because they are trying to do Ctrl-Alt-Del and get it wrong....
