I bet there are literally thousands of people replying to this thread, cursing their operating system when they click "Post message" and all that happens is that the button greys out...

If I didn't know that i'd be more than a little offended. I may even flounce, if it didn't take so many clicks that I'd be here until midnight waiting for the next page to load

Nothing to do with Win7. Make sure the address in the browser bar starts www.mumsnet.... not www.mumsnet....

StealthPolarBear · 24/06/2012 11:38

Not just talking about MN, it's all sites. Shockingly slow to do anything - noticed it more browsing web but that's probably what I do most. sometimes it's because I've not spotted a tiny pop up, sometimes it's just becuase...
Also, and this is IE9, where have the little arrows gone next to the forward and back buttons. If you wanted to go back 3 pages, you didn't used to have to go back via every page you'd visited, you could drop down the arrow and pick the one you wanted. They must still have it but I can't find it. Now the back button is huge and the forward button is small.

Does IE9 give you a drop down of the history if you right click over the back/forward buttons?

tribpot · 24/06/2012 20:07

Have you tried with a decent different browser?

StealthPolarBear · 25/06/2012 12:50

Cruel THANK YOU
I knew there must be a way and that they wouldn't have got rid of a realy useful feature but for the life of me I couldn't find it!
Yes, I need to learn to love Chrome, don't I? But I just fear change :o

I don't like chrome (or IE), but firefox is very user friendly.

NoComet · 28/06/2012 12:39

Firefox is what you need!

DH and the DDs run Chrome (fancy quad core and newish lap tops), but it won't restore session on my older, cluttered desk top.

Firefox is much better. I have to use ie to access school remote access and it appears to be operated by a clockwork snail.
