Mine's simple. I like flagging things in outlook. I love it when everything has ticks next to it (It doesn't happen often) and hiding columns in excel Blush if something looks too horrible I can just hide it Grin

kelly2525 · 30/05/2012 11:37

I like putting stupid/odd bits of clip art onto customers emails, relating to what I think they look like, I don't send them though, so far I've never hit send before removing the pictures.

I don't like the flags, they bother me.

ScarlettInSpace · 30/05/2012 11:41

F4 is the best shortcut in office ever, it basically just repeats the last thing you did, so if you formatted a cell [excel] or text [word] then you want to do the same format somewhere else in the document, click on it, press F4 and heypresto - it will change your life Grin

squoosh · 30/05/2012 11:42

I'm a big fan of the undo button!

StealthPolarBear · 30/05/2012 11:42

Off to try f4, preparing for my life to change.
Format painter is also brilliant

Just tried F4 Scarlett! Amazing!

LadyBabsFlashesHerFanjo · 30/05/2012 11:49

Wow!!!

Kelly, I don't like the flags, I hate that they're red, it scares me seeing hundreds of red flags in my inbox Blush but I like to go on on my laptop once a week and not connect to internet and do them all, they sit in outbox till I connect and that's the only time that I ever have a nice neat line of ticks, until I turn internet on anyways Sad

exexe · 30/05/2012 11:52

I like to concatenate columns.

squoosh · 30/05/2012 11:53

That sounds painful exexe

notmydog · 30/05/2012 11:54

Not MS Office, but the Snipping Tool in Accessories (Windows) have changed my life. It's brilliant! You can use it to save absolutely anything in JPeg format. I use it almost every single day in my job.

StealthPolarBear · 30/05/2012 11:55

I am concatenating columns as we speak and using it to run access queries. It's painful though as something keeps corrupting my dh :(

Ouch, feel your pain Stealth, I'm currently trying to make a template spreadsheet for our budgets with formula's and everything

StealthPolarBear · 31/05/2012 09:16

It's his own fault he keeps telling me he can't find my database but won't tell me which one it is. Can anyone blame me for getting the CONCATENATOR out? Thatkl learn him

OneNote in general. It's so useful I've even bought my own copy at home!
It's a dumping ground and notes organiser in one, so easy to use.

get0rfm0iland · 31/05/2012 09:27

V lookup in excel - I use that all the time, so useful.

Concatenate function. Just for the word concatenate, really. Grin

Pivot tables.

I really like Excel. I hate Word and think it is the spawn of the devil.

get0rfm0iland · 31/05/2012 09:28

x posts everyone re concatenate Grin

Do you think we are a bunch of geeks on the quiet?

ahandbag · 31/05/2012 09:36

I have only fairly recently learnt the joys of concatenating and have been pushing the boundaries on vlookup, makes my job sooooo much quicker why why why did no one tell me they were so useful and, actually, fairly simple to use.

Pivot tables .... I love and can any one else share my joy in discovering the beautifu and satisfyingl Spark Lines??

Now if I could just master Macros I'd be unstoppable.

LadyBabsFlashesHerFanjo · 31/05/2012 09:42

I hate word with a passion, it's useless, I use publisher instead

CA2006 · 31/05/2012 09:46

conditional formatting in excel 2010 (previous versions not nearly as good). best. thing. ever.

gladyoucame · 31/05/2012 09:49

One of the things I'm most looking forward to doing when I'm back at work is using excel for vlookup, hlookup, pivot tables and lots of other excel functions. Currently looking for pt finance job and run out of 'home admin' spreadsheets to mess around with. Sad geek!

StealthPolarBear · 31/05/2012 10:10

Has everyone discovered the joys of ctrl shift enter in excel? Haven't fully looked into exactly how it does what it does but it means you can apply formulas to ranges and has saved me loads of time!

StealthPolarBear · 31/05/2012 10:13

get0rfm0iland · 31/05/2012 10:13

Grin at gladyoucame

StealthPolarBear · 31/05/2012 10:14

Oh and if you like vlookup, are you aware of sumif and countif? Think they were new in 2007 and are fantastic - can use with wildcards
