Typing up a document on an iPad

Hello all!

I've got myself a college interview for a couple of weeks and it's dawned on me this morning that I only have a useless old laptop (that really I should've thrown away) and my iPad for all my computing needs. The iPad is wonderful of course and I love it however I have no way of writing up a document.

Obviously there will be a lot of transferring between me and a college computer so it needs to be compatible with both with minimum effort and stress.
I know I'll need a bluetooth keyboard to make it easier but what app is the best? I've heard of 2, pages and word to document(?) with the later sounding better in most reviews but I'd really like mns opinion!

Any ideas? Thanks

Hi

I'd look at desktop.onlive.com/overview

or

itunes.apple.com/gb/app/documents-to-go-office-suite/id317117961?mt=8

I also LOVE Evernote.com for organising and storing docs, but having looked into it it doesn't offer export into word very well.

Hope that helps?

Good luck.

I have quick office but not tried printing from it.

I have a Tecknet bluetooth keyboard that was very cheap but does the job just fine.

I spent a long time weighing up the various office suites and ended up choosing Pages (have never had to print from it though).

I tend to use it in conjunction with Dropbox (app for PC/Mac and iphone/iPad), so I can access work/home documents very easily while I'm on the go. Took me a while to figure out how to set up word count and indents but now I like it a lot.

Thanks from the advice, much appreciated :)

I'll look for that keyboard mysterious thanks

Thing is that because I need to work on the documents at home on the iPad, on the college computers and in the local library, do I have to download Dropbox as a program or is it like an iCloud kinda thing? I won't be able to install anything onto the public pcs
That's a point, could I just use iCloud I open them?

Sorry I'm really new to this!

Not sure about iCloud as I don't use it, but it's possible to use dropbox with just a web login when you're in public spaces. I have it properly installed at home and at work so I can just drag files in, but if I'm on other computers I can just go to the url and then be extra double careful that I'm logged out afterwards. You can also open docs from email so that works okay as well.

That sounds good, I'll look into that thankyou :)
