Problem with connecting to Internet through mobile network

I have an HTC wildfire and am with 3. In the past week or so I haven't been able to connect to the Internet through the mobile network - it tries but then says "WEb page not available". I am able to access my emails and I can use the phone as a mobile hotspot for other Wifi things I have.

Is this likely to be a network or phone problem? Have been trying different buttons on the wireless and networks section of settings but nothing seems to do anything. Phone connects fine to wifi as well.

I am using Three but with non HTC phones. Is it just the browser giving problems or are other things also unable to connect ?

For example, does the Google Market aka Google Play, work, or have you any apps that need internet access - eg TuneIn (radio) or FindaProperty (etc)

Also have you something like AVG (anti virus) running as that can spot any settings which leave your phone vulnerable.

If none of the apps that need internet access are working (via the mobile network) then one option might be to visit Three but first I'd check the My3 accounting details as you can see what allowances are present and check that 'all you can eat' (or other internet access) is enabled.

FWIW I have a Three dongle, a contract (600 min/month + 3000 texts + all-you-can-eat internet) for 12 months and a PAYG SIM (which I have not topped up, so that's inactive right now).

If you can access your emails away from wifi (and it's actually pulling in new ones at that point, rather than just showing you the ones you already had) it's not a connection problem. My HTC Desire (original one, not one of the updated successors) does this on occasion - usually turning it off, pulling the battery out for 10 seconds, then putting it back together and turning it on sorts it out.

If nothing is working, however, it might be a more general problem with the phone, and I'd take it into a shop for them to have a look at to see if they can either spot a wrong setting or diagnose it as faulty.

Thank you for the suggestions :)

Bizarrely it is now being all right again - websites are loading again (emails were being fine although Facebook wasn't. Actually Facebook still not exactly happy but I don't tend to use that much on the go anyway).

Is making me realise that much as the Wildfire is OK, it is rather more clunky than my iPod touch. Would like an iPhone I think but will keep thinking about that one!
