Do you know how to re-size pictures for powerpoint slides? And if so, would you care to share this information?

Hi, am hoping someone out there knows a lot more about powerpoint than I do... I want to import some images - pages from Indesign if that makes any difference, but they are saved as jpegs or pdfs. I have completely forgotten how to re-size them! (I know you can click on the corners but that just means bits of the image are lost - I want the whole thing to fit into the slide.)

Am also struggling because this is the first time I've used Powerpoint for yonks and I hadn't realised when my computer was upgraded, they must have given me a new version of powerpoint. The top menus look different and I am a confused bear of very little brain. Help!

Must go and phone my Mum now - I will really appreciate any suggestions but may not be able to post again for half an hour or so.

(I can use Indesign perfectly well, it's powerpoint that has me flummoxed.)

As far as I'm aware you do just use the corners and pull the image in or out as required and it resizes. Is it possible you have it in 'crop' mode instead?

I have Office 2007 if that makes a difference.

As already mentioned, you can either resize by clicking on the corner of the image and 'pushing it in or out' or right click on the image and you get the option to 'format image' and can resize it that way. Also worth remembering is that when saving the document you can choose to reduce the image size (as in DPI/pixels) to make the document size smaller (as powerpoints with lots of images can get quite hefty file size wise).

Ah, right clicking on the image! I always forget about right-clicking - used a Mac laptop with a track pad for years and still haven't got my head round PCs. (I now use both Mac and PC at work which Does Not Help The Confusion.)

Thank you!
