I mean I've used mail merge for letters before, but used window envelopes so I never had a need to figure it out.

Now, in work, I'm given (already printed) letters that are confidential so window envelopes are out.

Is there a way i can print all the evelopes together?

At the moment I type all the addresses in to word (no way around the typing bit, handwritten envelopes won't wash) and then hightlight each address and use the tools - envekopes and labels function to print each one

i'd really like there to be a way I can just click print once and spend my time on More Important Stuff

Find out what type of envelopes they are and where the manual feed is on the printer

Enter settings into mail merge wizard

Good luck!!

Or put addresses into excel, save, use in word mail merge wizard to print labels?

You can do a mail merge to labels.

It definitely can, I managed to do Christmas cards once, and that would have been Word 97, it was that long ago!

We've got Word 2007 and in the 'Mailings' menu there is actually an 'envelopes' option. Anyway though, envelopes or labels is the same difference - you just need to select the right size then manually feed them in one by one

OK I'll have a look when I'm next in the office - at the moment I stick the envelopes in the feeder tray and they feed in from there

If it's mail merge then I imagine I'll have to move the address to excel them as the data source?

This is a Good Thing seeing as I've about 100 of the blooming things waiting on me

Set up a ss with columns for name, address 1, address 2 and postcode. Save. That's your data source. Envelopes in feeder tray is right, just make sure Word knows how big your envelope is so it centres the address :)

You don't strictly need to use Excel either. In the Word Mailing menu (under Select Recipients I think) there is the option to type a new list - which opens a window like a mini spreadsheet to enter your info.

Oh I get you with the envelope size now!!

Excellent - will give it a go - you have save me much time thank you (well providing I'm not too much of a stupid head that is!)
