Anyone know any good repair shops? We're letting it dry to see if it works, but doesn't look good :(

Friend of mine swears by putting soaked electronic gadgets in a packet of rice that is sealed for a week to make them work good as new!

No idea if there is anything in it but no harm in trying.

Don't eat the rice afterwards though! Grin

Yes that does work Starlight :) open it out and use the rice; it absorbs all the moisture.

Don't put it on the radiator though as it'll sweat.

Oops! I don't mean use the rice as in eat it, I mean put the DS in it!

MrsS01 · 12/01/2012 00:55

i'll try that. If its no good, is it likely to be covered under house insurance?

Wouldn't your excess be more than a new DSi? I think most excesses are in excess of £100 nowadays, and you can get a DSi for £100 afaik.

Is it working yet?

DS2 did this to his DS years ago. It eventually worked again but took ages (weeks?) to recover fully - to start with nothing worked, then only certain bits, then finally it was as new.

So don't give up on it too early - it might still be OK given time.
