Chuffed to bits with my new camera Grin and I want to get some good quality prints, probably enlarged.

Can anyone recommend a good service?

I know that jessops used to be good (?) but the last time I tried to use them their site wasn't mac compatible. I've tried the mac service and tesco, but neither were good enough.

I was pleased with my memory.com but am not professional!

snapmad.com and also respond very quickly to resolve any problems . They are mac compatible . Site can be a bit clunky but very good results with good colour matching

Former wedding photographer here.

DSCOLOURLABS

cheap as chips and excellent quality and service.

I have used photobox and snapfish, but of the 2, photobox's prints seem better quality to me (but there site takes longer to load the photos to, probably as they save them as better quality images I guess)

This is great advice, thank you all!

AGH!
I decided to place a small order with a few companies to compare.

Today I have tried:

Apple - successful order
Canon - successful order

Tesco/snapfish/photobox/DSColourlabs/Jessops - all crashed at various stages in the process. Grrrrrrrrrr...

actually, it wasn't just crashing that was the problem, but the upload tools not being able to 'see' the folder where I'd put photos ready to upload.

Anyone got any ideas why this might be?

No idea I have never had any probs with dscolourlabs.

HamblesHandbag · 22/12/2011 15:37

I just tried again with the DSColourlabs desktop kiosk and it worked fine - good price too!

Great I trust you will not be disappointed withe the quality either....... let me know what you think.

Hi Nikon, I finally got around to doing a comparison of prints received from Apple, Canon and DSColourlabs.

The Apple ones were immediately ruled out as skin tones looked grey and cold.

there wasn't much between the other two tbh, other than a dark brown wall looked black on the DSColour ones and more true to the actual colour on the Canon prints.

However, the price of the DSColour prints are much more cost effective, so I'll probably use them for the family albums quantities.

thanks for the recommendation!

Actually, the fact that DSColourlabs lets you upload a whole folder of pics at once, rather than the tedious one by one of the Canon site makes them much more attractive.
