Have received phone bill today. Apparently I have overused my broadband so have to pay an extra £25.
What I don't understand is that I am on option 2 which is supposed to give me 40mb and unlimited wi fi per month.
What is going on? I never download anything, I have a main Pc, a netbook, i phone and i pod. So how can I be charged an extra £25 for over usage?

Check your bill. Unlimited usually doesn't mean unlimited. 40mb is titchy also. Have you left an app on? I am going to bed now, do check your bill. They are all bastards.

You need to find out exactly what you have been billed for. I suspect it's going over your mobile data allowance but you need to check that.

iPhones can do so much more than "download" that it's easy to chew up a data allowance by a "normal" level of internet activity. What exactly do you do on your iPhone?

It will be 40GB not 40MB. 40GB should last most people unless you are watching a lot of movies online (eg. YouTube) or streaming a lot of music (eg. Spotify).

The unlimited broadband will refer to when you are out and about and using BT Openzone hotspots, not using wifi at home on your iphone.

I'd recommend swapping suppliers if you are outside contract to a company who does truly unlimited such as Sky or BeThere. You may pay a couple of quid more per month but then you are guaranteed no nasty surprises.
