I dont think there is a lot of difference spec wise between any of them but that is after a quick glance. However I have heard great things about the HP mini and if I was going to buy one, thats the one I would plump for.Apparently Packard Bell are owned by Acer so there isnt much to choose between the first three. In my opinion HP and Toshiba make better laptops than Acer so that would also be a factor.

Thanks bubbles

I was swaying towards the HP myself, but it's a little more expensive than the others and was wondering if it was worth it ...?

Could you stretch to a Mac book Air ?

I have an HP Mini and it's fine. Quite solid feeling. My only niggle about it is that, due to battery size, the screen doesn't push back quite as far as I'd like. Best to go to John Lewis and have a play on a few to see how they feel. The Acers felt a bit plasticky to me.

A Macbook Air isn't a netbook, it's just a very small laptop. Netbooks are usually substantially less powerful than a laptop, those ones linked to above have a fraction of the memory and a "crippled" version of Windows. Macbook Airs are fully functional laptops and very powerful things indeed.

So you're not comparing apples to apples, but yes they are very lovely things :)

Wink

Ok, I think I've got it down to the following (and no mention of macbooks please) ...

samsung NP-N145
Packard Bell Dot S
Toshiba NB250-107 and
HP mini 210-3002SA

I'd be grateful for any thoughts on these

This is recommended by some of the techie forums I have been on,it has a dual-core processor and seems to be good spec for the price.

Thanks bubbles, I'll take a look at that one Smile
