For some reason when I do a google search I am suddenly getting sponsored links at the top of the page such as the one below:

Sponsored Links
Real cock hungry sluts are awaiting you!
Dating sex search engine. Free to join, Free to use!
www.SexScanner.com/sex_dating

I was searching for a cinema for God's sake. Shock

Am worried about the kids seeing this (we haven't got any software blocking yet) as they are too young to really use the internet but sometimes together we do searches. Plus anyway, I don't want to see it! Can anyone advise??

There should be a way to turn SafeSearch on. Somewhere on the top right of the screen.

However I don't get porn sponsored links even just then when I purposely put in porn key words. I suspect that you have allowed something to install which is adding those links.

What browser are you using? It could be Internet Explorer 6,7 or 8. Or it might be Firefox or Opera etc

Depending on which one people will be able to tell you how to check if an AddOn or Toolbar is installed.

I use Mozilla Firefox. It's just started after using google chrome for a while. How do I check for installs?

I don't have firefox, but this page will help you see which plugins you have.

www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/#list-plugins

Does it show the links in both browsers?

It seems to only show them in google chrome .com (which is a default I just cant get rid of, but that's another story!) and not google.co.uk

No that's not another story, that is your problem - you have some malware that is injecting the unwanted ads to search pages and preventing you changing settings.

Well duh! Why haven't you installed the free Microsoft Security Essentials?
Use this link and check it says windows.microsoft.com in the address bar just in case your malware hijacks the link.
