.. mine seems to be simply eating juice at the moment, more than ever. I know they are notorious for this, but even so, mine is crazy!!! Anyway, just wondering if there might be any hidden settings that are worth switching off anywhere? I now turn Apps off when i remember, and also have the wireless seeker off unless I specially want it on.

I don't think it is constantly looking for data (but not sure how to check this?)

Any other top tips to keep my battery lasting just a bit longer?

BTW, just noticed, having charged it overnight, it only had 99% battery life, which in itself is frankly annoying!

Turn it off Grin

Only charge things when they are flat to do so otherwise is to mess up the memory of the electrolyte causing the capacity of the battery to drop (so it says it's charged but doesn't last as long as it once did).

Turn blutooth off if you don't need it and what duomo said, charge when flat.

iPad grrr what Ryoko said

I find with my iPod touch that having the brightness down a bit increases battery life.

Unfortunately, hard for me to only charge when completely flat, as it runs out so fast when I am out, that unless I have 50% on the dial when I leave home, there is a very good chance I will run out.... but will try and find more opportunities to do it, if I can.

Bluetooth is off.

Will try brightness, "every little helps" as they say.

Annoying, as I hardly use it really in the grand scheme. Make almost no calls, send very few texts, but I do check emails on it - suspect that goes through it!

Thx for the tips.

Have you turned "Push Notifications" off? You'll find it Under Settings/Notifications.

Having it turned on means that you get immediately notified of new emails or when someone does something in certain games.

However the "price" for that is extra network connectivity and traffic, and that in turn will impact the battery life. How much it will affect the battery life is the subject of an awful lot of quite hot and angry debate but it does have an impact.

There is some more advice from Apple here:

you could switch off the 3g connection if you don't really surf web during the day. Or have you applied the latest OS update? Apparantly it has been causing more battery drain than usual www.geek.com/articles/apple/how-to-shut-off-ping-and-increase-battery-life-with-ios-4-3-20110321/
