How do I load a DVD onto my iPad

Apologies if this has been covered before.
I am not very techy but am up for 'having a go' & want to load my baby Einstein DVD onto my iPad.
I have spent the past couple of evenings researching this and chose to go with DVDtoiPad.co.uk and use their free download iPad Converter Suite.

However, once the DVD has been ripped and I look in the folder I allocated for the output to be saved to it seems that much of the DVD is missing as the file numbering goes 1,8,9,10,11,12,19,30, 31 etc (can you tell I am not a tech !)
When I drag and drop these into itunes I get a similarly eclectic bunch of 'bits' of chapters - a minute here and a minute there.

My question is do I need to purchase some kind of full version of this software - it says it is free as they all do but does not seem to work 100%

My second question is once I find a way of copying all of the DVD is there a way that I can neatly drag and drop the 'output' so I just get one title in itunes rather than all the separate files (merge function maybe but then do I lose the ability to skip through chapters)

Many thanks in advance for any help (wish I still had access to a fantastic IT department like in my pre kids life !)

Um. Don't you just add to iTunes? Direct from DVD?

Apparently not - DVDs are not like music CDs and have to be converted into a compatible format. I think !

No you can't just add it to iTunes, not if it's a purchased DVD. It will have encryption on it that prevents that. However...

Download Handbrake from here for free:

handbrake.fr/downloads.php

You can then load the DVD, select iPad as the output file (or 'universal' if you wish it to play on other iDevices too) and it will convert the DVD into the correct format. This file can then be added to iTunes and synced with your iPad.

Hope this helps...

I thought of Handbrake too but I don't think it decrypts DVD's so it might not work. Worth trying though.

handbrake does work well, but for preference (and ease, especially for a novice) I would use Videora. Has a fantastic help guide, complete with screen shots - just follow it step by step.
