Geocachers - which handheld GPS do you use?

DH has a Blackberry that we use for geocaching, but I can't go without him. I'm thinking of getting a handheld GPS. I like the look of the Garmin Oregon, but it's not cheap. So, I'm trying to work out if it's worth it and what map bundle I should get.

Some questions:

Do you have maps?
What is good about your GPS?
Which would you buy if starting again?
Are they any better than the ones on phones?

TIA

We have an old Garmin Gecko. It's a teeny, basic thing bit it does the job, and has always been pretty accurate. No maps. No exciting functions to speak of in fact, but it is very small, light, doesn't seem to mind being dropped etc. If starting again I would get the same, if they're still available.

Thanks for the reply Umami. Do you find that its OK without maps then? Do you take a map with you on the walk aswell? Do you use it for anything other than geocaching?

We take a map if we remember, and have the relevant one, but only really need it if it's a very countryside-y walk on footpaths that aren't well marked. So on the whole, no maps. A quick look at the satellite view on Google maps can be helpful beforehand!

Have never used it for anything other than geocaching.

Google maps is great, isn't it.
Thanks for your help.
