Last year I bought a DSTT card onto which I could download games for my Nintendo DS. I ended up losing the micro sd card, and on that had the TTMenu that is needed to load the games to play.

I have since bought a new micro sd card, and have downloaded what I thought to be the latest version, and have downloaded a game to see if it has worked, but when I insert the cartridge, it shows a red menu? icon.

Can anybody please help and run through this with me step by step?!

If you're downloading games then they're probably illegal, especially if they're the ones you would normally buy in the shops.

This is basically theft.

You wouldn't dream of coming on here asking advice on how to break into someone's house, how to shoplift from a corner shop or how to avoid paying an honest worker for work they had done for you.

So why is it right to come on here asking how to steal from people like me?

And how do you think people like me feel seeing people ask how they can steal from us?

Would you like it if you saw a burglar asking how to steal from you?

Im sorry that has caused you so much offence. I certainly didnt expect a barrage of abuse. Can you clarify what you mean by stealing from you?

There are hundreds of websites where downloads are available, and just as many sites where you can by the cards in order to do so. Do you want to spout off to each of those about how they are 'stealing from you'?

If you are downloading copyright games that you would normally buy then what you are doing is illegal. There's the whole set of proposals going around that if you're caught doing it a number of times you will get your internet connection cut off (personally I disagree with such proposals and would rather people just accepted that it was wrong and stopped doing it).

The attitude that it's OK to steal games, movies, music and so on is what offends me. These things are made by people like me who put hours of effort in to them, and taking the results of all that effort without paying them is akin to stealing.

Just because there are hundreds of websites where you can download copyright things doesn't make downloading them right. There are all sorts of illegal things out there on the internet and their existence doesn't make them right either.

And offence is definitely the right word to use. As said how would you feel if you saw a public discussion by your boss asking how they could get dodge paying you for your months work?

There are a lot of people on this board in particular who help people out with all sorts of IT problems. How do you think it then feels to see people discussing how to go about ripping us off?
