Both dd's are getting very good at using the PC and surfing the net, dd2 (ASD) is 4 and has worked out how to use you-tube and has worked out passwords to all my accounts Shock. I don't mind them using the pc so i don't want to limmit the time they spend on the pc but they are finding allsorts of things on you-tube which i don't really want them to see. As they both have ASD its hard to tell them 'whats rude' and 'what they can't go on'.

So how do i restrict what they go on?

Sorry, i know nothing about PC's other than how to mumsnet and e-bay Grin.

Change your passwords! Make sure that your browser does not store them, which i guess is how your dcs worked it out.

If you install Firefox, you can get free net nanny add ons that work well enough to deter a 4 year old.

I set ds 5 up with his own login on the pc

when I am finished I log off.. he knows if he wants on he clicks on the picture of the dog.

His internet home page is set to fireman sam which has links to lots of other cbeebies chaeracter sites

He wouldnnt know how to get anywhere else on the web and there is no email on his login

If this doesnt work for your protege you may need some sort of parental controls

TBH i am shocked your 4 year old knows so much already

Thanks, we have fire fox so i will try the add ons.

Frasersmummy- she just types random things (like 'dora the explorer') into the search bar and you-tube videos come up, you-tube seems to have a lot of rude versions of childrens programes/characters which dd2 tends to find. She has Autism and a fantastic memory, she can read write and type so can easily use the pc.

You need to make sure that you log out of sites like you tube or eBay too after you've finished with them. YouTube will not allow you to view rude videos without an account.
