Kindle or Sony reader?

Dh really into books, and has currently nabbed my ipad to read books on.

Its our anniversary in a few weeks and thinking about something like this but I have no idea about them - which is better yadda yadda - can anyone reccomend one or the other please?

Ha ha Sandy, but Im back in Harry Potter mode at the minute, getting ready for November. Porn ann Harry just dont mix Im having to carry big brick like books around because JK wont release HP in ebook format.

Thanks Sandy, Ive leart how to do more on my Kindle today than I have in 9 months

Up to now Ive only downloaded books from the kindle site. I did put music on it but I never knew how to play it or where it had gone. Today I discovered how to do it.

I put the HPs on as pdf documents. I cant fiddle about with the font as good as with kindle books, but it is fine.

The music was on my kindle all along, I just didnt know where it was stored or how to play it

Voldemort: Calibre is brilliant - it is like a library - you download on your books onto it - covert to MOBI and then transfer to your Kindle - the book will be just like you bought it from Kindle - IT.IS.AMAZING!

Not used Sony reader but I love my Kindle.

Mssive advantage for ipad users is that you can download the kindle app on the iPad and synchronise with the kindle (and iPhone if you have one) so you are never without a book, and it automatically finds the furthest read page.

Definitely go for 3G so that you can download anywhere. Not every country has so many cafes with free wifi.

Have ordered the kindle, but wifi only. Worked out that realistically, dh only ever goes to work or is at home, so wifi is available, and if he goes abroad he just have to download a good selection before he goes.

Sandy I think I have heard of it now. The DCs can join and borrow audio books if they have problems with reading, is that right? I think somebode mentioned it over the summer.
