MacBook Air, Virgin trains & wifi

I have a MacBook Air.

I am going on a train journey tomorrow.

I'd like to take it so dd can watch something and I can use it in hotel while away.

The hotel has wifi. Do Virgin trains? What do I need to do to my laptop to make the Internet work on the train?

Many thanks in advance!

My mac just automatically connects to wifi if there is one to connect with. I've never tried on a train but I'd assume the same thing?

Wifi on virgin

Download something from the iplayer and then you won't have to worry about the signal on the train

MrsCurly um, how do I do that Blush? TIA.

Go to www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/categories/childrens/tv

When you click on the programme you want, you will see Download options to the bottom right of the picture. If you have not already downloaded the i-player thingy, it will prompt you to do it.

It is worth doing this, as if you only download the file to play in Windows Media player (or Mac equivalent), you have to remember to play a brief snip of it before you leave your internet connection at home, or else it won't download the media rights, and you will be left with an unwatchable file and a pissed-off child!

Hope this helps? I downloaded a stack of 64 Zoo Lane, Charlie and Lola, In the Night Garden, etc. for a recent house move, and it was fantastic for keeping my poor DS entertained while I was ignoring him to pack!
