I will be watching from the sofa . I expect the dc's would get us banned if I took them anyway.

I think it's on BBC2 every night this week.

Me! Bought my tickets months ago as a special weekend for my best friend who needs a treat. We've never been before and looking forward to spending a day there and shopping/eating/drinking the rest of the time. I wondered if other mumsnetters would be going.

asmallbunchofflowers · 24/05/2010 11:52

No! I'll be watching from the sofa. Went once and had a grim time - am vertically challenged so could see very little and received various crush injuries in the throng.

Would rather spend the ticket money on plants!

FlightyButPolite · 24/05/2010 12:02

I'm going - first time in 7 years as my two dc are now at school so I have the time to get there and back!

sooooooo looking forward to it!

LostArtofKeepingASecret · 24/05/2010 12:09

I'd love to go. Still, I'm sure watching on TV will be just as good. . Just think, we'll avoid the crowds, the heat and Alan titchmarsh!

theITgirl · 24/05/2010 13:01

I am, I am, I am.
Going tomorrow

Cannot wait. I have never been before

Meglet · 24/05/2010 13:33

I'm going on Weds! Let me know what to look out for.

taffetacat · 24/05/2010 14:41

I am . Can't get the childcare.

Although I suspect I may prefer another less cutting edge one as am a terrable consumer and would want to purchase stuff.

I can't wait to watch on telly tonight. DH working late, Chablis in fridge.

taffetacat · 24/05/2010 14:42

terrible speller

PheasantPlucker · 24/05/2010 14:45

I am going with dh tomorrow. We are looking forward to it, especially Tom Stuart-Smith's garden, which looks gorgeous from the TV coverage (as ever!) The man is a genius

Pannacotta · 24/05/2010 19:39

Would love to go, had a fab time last year, but also can't get child care for such a long day...

PheasantPlucker · 25/05/2010 09:16

Am off in 10 minutes - yay!!

CatherineHMumsnet · 25/05/2010 09:21

There are one or two foliage plants as well

asmallbunchofflowers · 25/05/2010 16:02

But, sadly, no gnomes.

theITgirl · 25/05/2010 22:02

It was fantastic.

My favourite was L'Occitaine, followed by the Leeds one.
Actually L'Occiaine was best first thing in the morning and the Leeds was at its best early afternoon. I saw some of the show gardens twice and they looked very different with the different light.
The Malaysian garden also very good (except for colour) but very beautiful.

The courtyard gardens also very good especially the rhubarb and custard also liked the rainforest one (best in category).

Not very impressed with the urban gardens but by then Dad was on a mission to see everything and it was 'seen that - what next?'

I saw the show gardens by myself (i.e. my parents were still on the train) and spent ages admiring and taking photos - the designers were still on a complete high for their medals and a lovely air of excitement.

WARNING - I had a 2GB SD card and took over 350 photographs, but ran out of battery - I only took one set of spares. So take more than one set. I ran out half way through the day, luckily I have masses of the show gardens.

Pavilion also good and loved the hats!!!

theITgirl · 25/05/2010 22:19

Also amazed how small the gardens are. I thought you needed a massive garden for these displays. But I could fit a show garden into mine - wouldn't grow as my garden is very shady!
Could also fit one of the urban gardens easily into the garden we had when living in London. (For perspective we now live in a tiny 3 bed 'end-of-terrace.

bourboncreme · 25/05/2010 22:23

I'm going tomorrow ,hope the weather holds have wanted to go forever

jonicomelately · 25/05/2010 22:27

Every year I dream of going. Haven't made it yet. I usually go to Tatton though which is pretty good.

PheasantPlucker · 26/05/2010 09:33

My favourite was Tom Stuart-Smith's garden, I also loved Robert Myer's gardem for CRUK. We had a chat with him, he was exhausted but delighted to have got another gold medal.

It was nice to see Leeds City Council finally get a gold medal after all these years, I was really pleased for them.

FlightyButPolite · 26/05/2010 15:30

Only one more sleep and I get to go!

I am so looking forward to seeing the L'Occitane garden it looked beautiful on the tv last night!

bourboncreme · 26/05/2010 20:59

Just on the train comming home.We loved the M&G garden and the foreign &Colonial one.Of the courtyards loved the bee garden and we also liked the the thrive urban garden. We made sure to see the dyslexia trust garden which we thoughtgot the message accross,we took some photos for ds2s school as it ISA specialist school for dyslexics.

Don't miss the rat eating plants in the pavilion or Hardys cottage garden plants.

We had a fab day, hope you do too

CatherineHMumsnet · 27/05/2010 15:52

I loved the M&G one too - the roses there were particularly beautiful. I even managed a sighting of Alan Titchmarsh on the way out.
