A statue of a meerkat. There were loads in the garden centre last week.

How much do you want to spend?

I am guessing as a keen gardener he's going to have most of the kit. TBH, I would prob steer clear of the statues as art is such a personal thing. I might go for some new aquatic plants or really boringly a national garden centre voucher.

My Dad is in his 70's and likes Amazon vouchers better than anything as he's such a fussy article.

I think maybe the vouchers are the way forward. Although I did witness some very beautiful HGV statues in the garden centre yesterday; maybe I could combine them - a meerkat driving an HGV?

You probably can get that you know Meerkats are de rigeur at the moment. They're everywhere.

How about some solar lights? They are a lot better than they used to be and it's quite nice to have lights in the garden in the evening

A ticket to see the Chelsea Flower Show :-)

I have two suggestions:

1. Membership of the Royal Horticultural society (nice magazine every month and free entry to all their gardens, plus dicounts etc...)

1. Offer to take them on a trip to a nearby garden centre and buy them fish/plant of their choice, plus of course the obligatory tea and cake in the cafe. Most big garden centres can easily be turned into a nice afternoon out. If you're close, then Bridgemere in Shropshire is a good bet for this...
