Can I ripen plums that have fallen from tree?

I have a plum tree which despite thinning out the fruit and supporting the branches - has this morning broken a main branch with about 20 plums on

Does anyone know whether I can still ripen them on a window sill? They are about full size but still firm and only just starting to colour, or do I just bin them?

Our first fruits in 2 years - not the best start!

Any suggestions what to do where the branch has snapped off the main trunk - do I cut it back?

I wouldn't have thought so, but maybe you could make chutney of some sort?

I would try to place them in a paper bag. No guaranteed but it might help and you don't really have anything to lose.

Put them next to some bananas - the bananas give off a gas which makes fruit ripen quickly.

Having said that, if they're really small and green they might be beyond saving, in which case I'd go with Grimma's chutney suggestion!
