Anyone able to identify these trees for me?

Photos are on my profile.

DD1's doing her wildlife Brownie Badge, so we duly went to the park to do bark rubbing and take photos of the trees. But we've no idea what these trees are! I thought it would be quite simple to identify them when we got home, but I can't find anything that looks like them!

If it's any help, I think they are both conifers as we found (different) pine/fir/whatever! cones under them.

They were at Wollaton Hall in Nottinghamshire, so it's possible that they are not native to the UK, they may have been imported.

Any suggestions? Brownie Wildlife badge to the winner

I think the top one may be a Cedar tree. They are usually a more regular shape though, so could be wrong.

Second one, possibly Scots Pine.

Sorry, thats not all that helpful.

No, that's wonderful, it gives me a direction to look in! I was just completely bamboozled! Thank you

Yeah - i'd second Mintyy - I think top one is a cedar although it's an odd shape. Second one does look like a Scots Pine. You can always check on the RHS website - go to plant finder and put in a few details from the piccy and a selection should pop up - with picture!

Aww... Wollaton Hall - you've made me quite homesick.
