3 weeks ago my allotment was lovely, all pruned and trimmed with nascent pumpkins and strawberries and tomatoes and suchlike poking through the freshly turned soil

NOW, despite industrial applications of nemaslug, a slug pub, and even a bloody POND, there are NO plants, and we have an effing cultivation order.

To be fair, it is looking a little overgrown, given that the last month has consisted of alternating torrential rain-blazing sunshine-torrential rain-blazing sunshine, but ffs.

I am very very grumpy and just want to pack it all in really. I have tried SO BLOODY HARD with it.

There are also loads of potatoes and fruit bushes and fruit trees and flowers and so forth but the potatoes aren't really up yet and apparently fruit tress and flowers "don't count" (they are edible flowers so not sure why not really)

actually more even than parental hackles being up, i am frustrated at how stupid she is being

she is putting off quite a lot of people.

there is basically NOTHING to recommend her shop over going online. nevertheless i have made the effort and patronised it because I WANT a lys. I also really want my kids to have a lys.

but tbh now i will either order online or go over the bridge to the best yarn shop in the UK

(I mean she is putting off a lot of people by being rude and offputting. the strength of lys is their customer service. )

that is v. sad fillyjonk. i don't get these dusty shops jealously guarding their crappy acrylic mixes from people who might actualy want to buy something.

darling filly, old men on allotments are The Pits IME. You are right, they are eyeing up your plot. Plant some lettuce/radishes/rocket NOW.

I have an allotment next to mine where the thistles are 5 ft high and no-one has touched it for over a year. They have only just been given a cultivation order and that is only because i asked for a reDuction on my rent to compensate for all the hours i HAVE HAD TO SPEND WEEDING THEIR WEEDS OFFA MY PLOT.
