Has the heatwave completely killed this plant or is it salvageable?

Novice gardener here - no clue really. Unfortunately had to go away for a few days during heatwave. Left some holiday watering bulb thingies in the soil but it seems they did nothing and they were still full of water when I returned.

Flowers have died (except one- see 2nd photo) but can I dead-head and water to try and revive or is it too late? Seeking advice from those with green fingers!

Dead head all flowers, dead leaves. Good feed and water. Should perk back up and re flower in a few weeks

Cut off all the dead bits. Give it a good soaking and it should recover.

Once you've watered it, put it in the shadiest spot you can find, or at least out of the blazing sun, to give it a chance to recover. If you can plunge it into a bucket of water and leave it until the bubbles have stopped rising to the surface, you will know the compost is properly wet as well. Good luck with it.

Handy hint - sometimes compost becomes resistant to re-absorbing water once it has dried out. If that's the case, add a drip or two of washing-up liquid to the watering can. It breaks through the resistance and allows the water in.
