My daughter brought home this beanstalk/ bean plant and it's been growing well but I let it outside for a bit and now the leaves look like the attached. What should I do?? And what are the steps to keep it growing well as I am clueless. Thanks.

Google says to cut off the dead leaves, will any grow back OK? How often do I water and should it just be a small amount of water? Is the soil too wet?

Panicking 😂🙈

It looks like a broad bean. It's been grown in relatively low light conditions, in a warm room and no moving air. You will have to gradually have to get it used to cooler, brighter and windier conditions to harden it off. I'd start by putting it in a sheltered shady spot and bringing it in at night. Gradually put in brighter conditions. Pick off the scorched leaf. The compost looks very wet. Don't water again until the pot feels much lighter and let it drain.

That's leaf scorch caused by too much sun too soon.

You need to keep it in the shade outdoors to start with, and it definitely needs repotting into a larger pot with fresh compost. The pale leaves are a sign of nutrient deficiency so it needs some new soil.

And yes, it looks way to wet. If you keep it like that, the roots will rot.

Thank you both for your advice. Yes it was kept in our living room when it was brought home as was advised it was too cold to go out yet. But obviously I had no clue what to do with it really inside. 🙈

Is there anything I can do tonight/tomorrow before I get new compost/soil?
