In a pickle about a pear tree - help!

I have been very unreasonable and bought a pear tree. My garden is too small for it!
My friend has this amazing pear tree in her house andit gives hetr the most amazing pears every autumn… i wanted the same.
This morning the pear tree has arrived and i dont know where to plant it….
we bought this house 1.5 years ago so garden is very much a project…
please help!
option 1 - on the raised border, between bay leaf tree and the lupins…. The smaller tree is a dwarf apricot tree i planted last year.
option 2 - behind the smaller shed (tools), next to mature plum tree and an apple tree i planted last summer…. The thought is that it would create some kind of mini orchard sticking out in a curve and complementing the curbe of the raised border. …

oprion 3 - instead if the sweet pras and green beans tipi. In my old house it used to be a great success every year. In this garden, it was not last year - maybe the soil is different
option 4 - instead of raised veg bed. It is too shady anyway to grow anything but potatoes

picture to help. In blue the potential pear tree position

what do you think?
thank you

What a lovely garden Smile

Doesn't it depend on the rootstock how big the tree will get? So in theory you can have a pear tree in a small garden as long as it's on the right rootstock.

The position in the first pic to the left of the curving path looks good - it could give you extra screening then and hide the view of that house beyond?

Thank you - Rootstock info is it will grow up to 2.5m. I worry if i plant it as per option 1, it will throw too much shade on that border. I am trying to grow some vines just in front of that ugly fence….

Lovely. You can keep it pruned to the shape size you want even if not on dwarf rootstock. I have some in large pots and some in the ground. Our local TCV did a fruit tree pruning course for free and it was really good learning about all the different ways to grow fruit and prune. Worth looking up some YT videos. Summer and winter pruning for apples and pears.

Could you espalier it along the fence instead?

Did not think of that… it would solve some issues… Not sure how achievable it is for a complete beginner though?

Go on to you tube and watch a couple of videos.
