I was reading an article about Lawrence Llewelyn -Bowen (I’m old) and he mentioned selling Monty Don’s jewellery back in the day.

Monty Don ‘studied English at Magdalene College, Cambridge, and has a background in running a successful costume jewelry business before fully dedicating himself to gardening and broadcasting.’

Who’d have thunk it.
Thought others might be interested.

It was wild, big costume pieces, but wearable in the 80’s. He had a shop on the Fulham Road

I still think of him as a jewellery designer. Paula Yates used to wear his earrings. Lots of big chunky crystal things with bows etc.

Oh, yes, they were absolutely horrifying! As eighties as shoulder pads and Top Gun.

It was very much the Sloane Ranger jewellery shop of choice!

Not horrifying at the time! I was in my early twenties in the mid eighties, I absolutely loved huge shoulder pads, pencil skirts, blingy costume jewellery, piecrust collars, stilleto heeled court shoes. Worked in central London lots of long lunches with plenty of alcohol, drinking champagne after work in wine bars. Monty Don jewellery fitted right in with all that.
