Anyone have one of these polytunnels, are they any good, what do you plant in them, do you find you can grow for later in the year? any input welcome please (photos also would be very appreciated)

Mine possible go onto gravel with many pots anyone else doing this?
Or I might move my metal raised bed inside one

Not sure wether to go polytunnel or green house, polytunnel is alot cheaper and more space BUT the wind and pinning down is a worry for me

Many questions im just open to any thoughts and feelings 😂 Thanks 🌞🌞

Dh set one up in our garden. On a really stormy day it took off, blew right over the fence and onto the road. Of course dh had gone to work so I had to go and deal with it at 7.30am in my pyjamas in pouring rain and wind. He clearly didn't peg it down properly even though he says he followed all the instructions.
It wasn't very heavy so I guess that's why it blew so far.
Maybe if you get a heavier one and properly erect it? Dh loves a bargain so ours was probably cheap and shit.
It was good while it lasted. Things grew really well in it.
The kids also liked playing in it among the raised beds.
Now we just have mini tunnel things over the beds that need some protection. Never having a polytunnel again.

@Randomchat thats my biggest worry, think ill have to ask my partner to help me dig very deep to pin down and then add something extra on top

Saw one thing say screw to a heavy wooden Base but then suddenly adding to cost, but still may be cheaper then a greenhouse!

We have two mini greenhouses from Aldi, they are brilliant, cheap and handy. They are tied to the house wall. They are on Amazon for just a few pounds

We live in a very windy place in Scotland, and decided on a greenhouse for that reason. We looked into polytunnels, and there is a company in Scotland, that does polys especially for windy situations, can't remember their name, but google will find it.

A cheap wilko polytunnel is exactly that, cheap.

It will be ok short term but if it doesnt blow away, collapse or rip id be amazed.

Polytunnels come in cheap or expensive, there doesn't seem to be a middle ground. I went with cheap, as things can get vandalised at the allotment. It has lasted 3 years, but now the window mesh is ripped. I went with a vonhaus one as I wanted a hinged door. It allowed me to grow so much more.

I bought a 'cheap' poly tunnel from amazon, I remove the cover in autumn and replace it in the spring (just done it). The only downside is it's a 2 adult job.
